Choose an interactive project Cartoon Network Green Room Guests of the Ayatollah Jacob Lawrence Mariah Carey The Morning Show National Journal Turner Classic Movies DJ Glew CLIENT DJ GLew PROJECT Design and build a website for prominent Toronto-based DJ. COMMENTS DJ Glew wanted a robot / cartoon / futuristic look and feel for his site. With client-submitted inspiration and a tight budget, I came up with a simple, straight-forward design using saturated, "digital" colors and three-dimensional elements. Turning his existing logo into a robot by adding cartoon arms and legs helped to further convey the look. An important aspect to the project was the inclusion of two manually-fed Flash-based modules on the homepage. Programmer William Ranwell developed an mp3 player that allows DJ Glew to add any number of tracks, each with it's own associated graphic. The other module is the central promotional area that acts like a frame, pulling client-generated images and captions from a database.
