COMMENTS
As an associate art director at Details magazine, I was fortunate to be able to work with a lot of great people and beautiful photography and illustration. All of the layouts shown here were produced when the magazine was redesigned by Robert Newman and Mark Michaelson taking inspiration from the Blue Note record covers of the 50s and 60s. Simple and modern with a syncopated style. I was in professional heaven at this point because I had coveted and admired this type of design since my design school days so it all pretty much came as second nature to me.
